Dental Bridges

There are several ways to replace missing teeth. A dental bridge is one option for filling an empty space where a tooth was previously extracted or missing. Resembling two or more crowns attached to each other, a dental bridge is anchored to teeth next to the open space with a fake tooth in the middle. Much like a regular dental crown, the anchor teeth, or abutment teeth, are prepared by cutting away the outside layer of tooth structure. The bridge is cemented onto the anchor teeth and the fake tooth fills the empty space.

Bridges have many uses and benefits:

  • Replace missing teeth
  • Restore or improve your smile
  • Improve your ability to chew and speak
